Welcome to the BCD Travel Semester at Sea Summer 2009 Travel Site

BCD Travel is honored to be designated as the Official Travel Agency for the Summer 2009 Voyage of Semester at Sea. Your voyage is set to depart Halifax, Nova Scotia on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 with your return to Norfolk, VA, on Saturday, August 22, 2009.

For your departure from Halifax, Nova Scotia we have rooms reserved from June 13 to June 17 at The Four Points by Sheraton that is located in Downtown Halifax. For your return into Norfolk, VA, space has been reserved from August 21 to August 24, 2009 at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel in Norfolk, VA which is located on the Elizabeth River near the Norfolk, VA International Airport. Please be advised that rooms are available for other dates upon request. Room availability at both hotels is limited and is on a first come, first served basis. Please be sure to book your rooms as early as possible to avoid being disappointed! Please click the hotel button at the top of this page for more information. All group space that is unsold must be turned back over to Four Points by Sheraton in Nova Scotia on May 15, 2009. Please be advised that the hotels are much smaller in Halifax than in larger cities. We will be staying in Halifax as well as Norfolk at the height of the tourist season and space is limited at both locations so please book your rooms as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment. Any unsold rooms at the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel Norfolk, VA Hotel will be turned back to the hotel on July 21, 2009. Hotels have been selected for their location and ease of access to both the Port as well as the Airport.

BCD Travel will have a Representative on site in Halifax to make sure that the hotel has your room waiting for you upon arrival and to assist with arrangements for transportation to the pier on departure day.
BCD Travel has a 24 hour/7 days a week fully staffed Emergency Department that you can call if you are having travel problems enroute to your destination.
Booking with BCD Travel insures that you will be staying at First Class Hotels that are conveniently located to the airport and pier and that you will be staying with other Semester at Sea Students and Families.

Booking your rooms through BCD Travel you will be assured that you will be receiving the best available rates at the hotels used and that the hotels are in close proximity to the port/airport.

We ask that you please share this information with your parents and families as they may want to plan a family vacation in Halifax and at the same time be on hand to wish you a "Bon Voyage" or they would like to meet you in Norfolk, VA to welcome you home.

Please note that for parents and family traveling to Halifax: Implemented on December 31, 2006, ALL PERSONS traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean region are required to present a passport or other valid travel document to enter or re-enter the United States.
