Welcome to the BCD Travel Semester at Sea Fall 2009 Travel Site

BCD Travel has been designated as the Official Travel Agency for the Fall 2008 Voyage of Semester at Sea. Your voyage is set to depart Halifax, Nova Scotia on Friday, August 28 with your return to San Diego, CA on Monday, December 14, 2009.

For your return into San Diego, space has been reserved from December 12 to December 16 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina which is located across from the San Diego International Airport. Please be advised that rooms are available for other dates upon request. Room availability at all hotels is limited and is on a first come, first served basis. Unfortunately, space is extremely limited at the Sheraton, so please be sure to book your rooms as early as possible to avoid being disappointed! It is necessary that you call BCD Travel for the special group rates at the Sheraton as they are not available by calling the hotel directly.

Why should I book my reservations with BCD Travel?

For your departure BCD Travel has arranged for special Semester at Sea Student and Family group discounts with hotels in Halifax, NS and San Diego, CA.
BCD Travel is able to check all airline schedules and rates in one easy phone call, rather than you having to check each individual airline.
BCD Travel will have a Representative on site in Halifax to make sure that the hotel has your room waiting for you upon arrival and to assist with arrangements for transportation to the pier on departure day.
BCD Travel has a 24 hour/7 days a week fully staffed Emergency Department that you can call if you are having travel problems enroute to your destination.
Booking with BCD Travel insures that you will be staying at First Class Hotels that are conveniently located to the airport and pier and that you will be staying with other Semester at Sea Students and Families.
Many times we have students who want to share a hotel room to keep their costs down and BCD Travel will assist you in securing a roommate. (More information regarding sharing a room can be found by clicking on the hotel link at the top of this page).

We ask that you please share this information with your parents and families as they may want to plan a family vacation in Halifax and at the same time be on hand to wish you a "Bon Voyage" or they would like to meet you in San Diego to welcome you home. Please note that for parents and family traveling to Canada – the U.S. State Department has new rules requiring that effective December 31, 2006, all individuals traveling to Canada will now require a passport. Please refer to www.travel.state.gov or call the U.S. National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778 for further details on passport requirements.
